- Meant to Be: Valentine’s Weekend in Atlantic City
Valentine’s Day has a reputation for being… a lot. Crowded restaurants. Fixed menus with tired options. Cutesy trinkets you didn’t ask for. Forced romance. And, somehow, everyone is expected to enjoy it as well as outperform last year’s efforts. If you want a Valentine’s Day getaway that’s actually fun, Atlantic City is wildly underrated. It’s the kind of place where you can do and spend as much or as little as you want. Don’t phone it in this Valentine’s Day, let us plan an escape to Atlantic City that actually feels like you and your partner — thoughtful, detail-oriented, and intentionally paced, that runs smoothly from start to finish, and looks like it took months to map out. This guide lays out a 2-day, 2-night Valentine’s Day weekend itinerary for Atlantic City, perfect for Friday arrival through a Saturday night stay. No one wants to wing it all weekend, nor can you when reservations are in high demand and low supply. Think less “carbon copy” and more “choose-your-own-adventure”, with good food, great views, and just enough indulgence to feel like a proper getaway. Friday: Arrival and No Rush Whatsoever Slow Down and Savor the Afternoon Friday afternoon is a good time to slow down and do something a little unexpected. Tucked into Atlantic City’s Arts District, the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University offers a thoughtful, low-pressure way to spend time together. From January 8 through February 26, 2026, the space is home to ACUA’s 11th Annual Recycled Art Contest & Art Exhibit, featuring works created entirely from discarded and recyclable materials by Atlantic County residents. Beyond the exhibit, the Arts Garage itself is worth exploring, with working artist studios, galleries, and small shops where you can watch artists at work and browse original pieces. A Leisurely Lunch Hidden in Plain Sight For lunch, slip down to the lower level of the Borgata and discover The Wine Bar and Italian Kitchen, tucked into the Food Hall Eatery. It’s the kind of spot you could walk past a dozen times without noticing, which is part of its charm. The menu is a mix of small plates, tapas, and Italian classics, from chicken Marsala to eggplant Parmesan, alongside salads, pasta, and more. If you want to do it right, curate a cheese plate and a wine flight and savor them at a leisurely pace. The selection of vintage wines and craft beers makes it feel like a quiet escape, even in a bustling hotel. After lunch, wander a few steps over to Haagen-Dazs for a sweet treat. From Easygoing to Energetic: Date Night Heats Up As the day transitions from relaxed to riveting, The Hook at Caesars Atlantic City is the perfect pre-dinner activity. This adults-only variety and acrobatics show blends jaw-dropping stunts, music, and unapologetically raunchy humor into a fast-paced experience that feels part Cirque du Soleil, part wild night out. With heavy crowd participation and a playful, anything-can-happen feel, The Hook pulls you right into the action and instantly raises the energy level of your Atlantic City getaway. It’s an ideal choice for couples looking to dive headfirst into an unforgettable experience. S et the Mood for Dinner Where Everyone Comes Out to Play After the high octane thrills of The Hook, the night flows into something a little more intimate at Angeloni’s Club Madrid. With dim lighting, retro-glam décor, and an innovative cocktail menu, this is the kind of place where a date feels like an extra special occasion every time. Modern Italian dishes like crispy eggplant milanese “Scarpariello” style and spicy crab orecchiette make every bite feel intentional, indulgent, and playful without weighing you down. Whether you’re stealing a quiet moment in the dining room over tiramisu and an espresso martini or soaking in the energy of the lounge with a not-so-subtle pornstar martini or Dirty Shirley, Angeloni’s strikes the ideal balance between romance and excitement, setting the stage for the rest of a night in Atlantic City that feels effortlessly glamorous. Dance Your Heart Out to End the Evening After dinner, the fun continues at Emo Night, hosted at Anchor Rock Club by DJ David Earl and Karle Gwen. Spinning a live set of all your favorite emo hits, the evening is equal parts cathartic, flirty, and nostalgic. We’ll be popping up with a table of Atlantic City-themed t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tote bags- perfect gifts for your Valentine! Whether you’re belting out angsty anthems with your date or sitting back and people watching, Emo Night is the perfect late-night stop for couples looking to end the first night of their Atlantic City Valentine’s celebration on a high note (pun intended). Saturday: Do What You Want, Not What Valentine’s Day Tells You To A Cozy Cafe Morning Wake up on Valentine’s Day and begin the celebration with a fun spin on tradition: chocolate for breakfast at Brewberry Cafe. The Pistachio Dream Delight crepe is similar to the popular Dubai chocolate with its Nutella and pistachio cream, but incorporates fresh strawberry and banana- because: balance. The crepe is large enough to share, and we recommend enjoying it after splitting the avocado toast. Brewberry is also home to one of the best lattes in Atlantic City: the Bear Crumble Latte. The exact ingredients aren’t revealed on the menu, but it lands squarely in Teddy Grahams territory, like one of those cute little bears is giving you a warm hug. Let the Day Drift By with Robes and Rest After a night out, a few slow hours at Exhale Spa at Ocean Casino Resort is the reset your body is begging for. Sink into the spa’s amenities like a Himalayan salt room, sauna, steam room, and pool. Linger awhile with a cup of tea and let the quiet do some of the work before your massage even begins. A deeply relaxing treatment melts away any leftover tension from the night before, leaving you refreshed and ready for round 2. It’s the kind of pause that balances luxury with restoration- proof that an Atlantic City getaway can feel just as calming as it is exciting. Laid Back Lunch Spice things up and try something new this Valentine’s Day… at lunch. The recently renovated Pancho’s is back. While the interior got a refresh, we’re grateful that the menu remains the same with its handmade tortillas and adventurous options like sopas de lengua. Yes, that’s Spanish for tongue. Consider it staying on theme, or go for the tacos al pastor if you enjoy something a little more tame. Just Do the Thing For the first time or all over again, you can pledge your love in a unique setting. Absecon Lighthouse is hosting a group vow renewal on Valentine’s Day at 5pm for a minimum $50 donation. The cost also includes live music, dancing, and a climb to the top of the lighthouse. Little Water Distillery will officiate your wedding ($199) or renewal ($89) in their tasting room (by appointment) and treat you and your spouse to a shot and a cocktail. If you’re not ready to say, “I do,” you can at least say, “Cheers” while you enjoy special Valentine martini flights at Little Water. Valentine’s Dinner: A Lesson in Chemistry Dinner at Vic & Anthony’s at Golden Nugget is where the evening settles into something unhurried and intimate. Romantic ambience, perfectly cooked prime steaks, polished service, and an award-winning wine list create the kind of natural chemistry that doesn’t need explaining. It’s the kind of restaurant where you order “one more drink” and realize you’ve stopped checking the time altogether. Save Room for a Sweet Finish Late evening at Bar32 Chocolate is the best way to cap off Valentine’s Day in Atlantic City, and by cap we mean nightcap. House-made, bean-to-bar chocolate shows up everywhere — drizzled over decadent desserts and shaken into cocktails. The dessert bar is upbeat and cozy at the same time, with a hum of energy that feels celebratory every time. Share a final round, steal a bite off each other’s plates, and end the night on somewhat naughty note. Breakfast by the Bay Before you depart Atlantic City, one of the best ways to ease out of the weekend is breakfast at Gilchrist. It’s a longtime local favorite for a reason: generous Hungry Man breakfast combos, classic blueberry hotcakes, and rotating seasonal pancake flavors. Gilchrist’s location in Gardner’s Basin adds to the appeal. Sitting right on the bay, it offers views of boats drifting by and the quiet charm of the marina homes, which feels surprisingly calm for Atlantic City, allowing you to connect with your love one last time before returning to reality. Atlantic City: Valentine’s Weekend Done Right When everything is thoughtfully planned, the weekend unfolds effortlessly. From slow mornings and indulgent afternoons to candlelit dinners and late-night sweets, this Valentine’s weekend is about savoring the moments that don’t feel rushed or overdone. It’s equal parts romance and fun, elevated but never stuffy — the kind of experience that feels personal, memorable, and unmistakably yours. Because the best weekends aren’t about doing more; they’re about getting the details just right.
- Atlantic City During the Holidays: It’s the Best Bet You’ll Make All Season.
You probably don’t think of Atlantic City when you think of the winter holidays, but you should. We’re on a mission to change minds and challenge preconceived notions about Atlantic City, including the idea that it’s strictly a summertime destination. Atlantic City is at its most magical during Christmastime, and even with only a few weeks left in the season. there are still so many holiday happenings that you simply mustn’t miss. We look forward to a wintry getaway in Atlantic City every December. There are countless bars and restaurants decked out in sparkling lights, menus that are merry and bright, and drinks in every flavor of the season. All of our favorite spots feel a little more special during the most wonderful time of year. Follow along as we guide you through a cozy Christmas itinerary built around the best decorations, cocktails, shopping, and holiday cheer. ⸻ MORNING Breakfast Options • Brittany’s Café — Before you head into the hustle and bustle, escape to this intimate diner for a quiet breakfast. The menu is classic and the service is friendly. Try one of their many omelet options with home fries and toast to fuel you for the fun-filled day ahead. • Quick alternative: Order online from Hot Bagels & More to skip the wait. A bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich is a Jersey Shore must-do, and Hot Bagels has perfected this staple. We like ours on a cinnamon raisin or everything bagel. Take your to-go order over to Hayday Coffee for a seasonal latte, loaded chai, or hot chocolate and your portable breakfast is complete. • Festive Fare: Breakfast with Santa at Cardinal on Sunday, December 21, from 11am-3pm. Enjoy the full brunch menu and $5 kids specials like a French toast log cabin! Book now on Resy! Morning Activities • Explore the 9th Annual Deck the Hall Festival of Trees at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall. See dozens of dazzling sponsor-decorated trees during business hours through January 3! • Do a casino crawl to check out all the elaborate Christmas decorations. Our favorites are Borgata, Tropicana, and Ocean. • Pay the big man a visit and find out if you made the nice list at Santa’s Hideaway Adventure at Ocean Casino Resort. Take a magical elevator ride to the North Pole for a photo opportunity with Santa and your family! ⸻ AFTERNOONS IN ATLANTIC CITY L unch/Brunch + Midday Drinks • Cardinal — Creative cocktails, including the new bacon vieux carre and a brunch that’s anything but basic with items like the southern benedict (fried chicken & sausage gravy atop a fluffy biscuit) and croissant French toast. A fun place to reset midday! • Pho Sydney — Warm up on a blustery day in no time with a big bowl of beef broth and noodles. Bonus- it’s conveniently located around the corner from The Wave parking garage and Tanger Outlets so you can sink into a booth and take a break from your holiday shopping. Afternoon Things to Do • Little Water Distillery — Winter cocktails for every kind of drinker- whiskey, bourbon, vodka, rum, and gin- all with housemade ingredients and spirits distilled onsite! The seasonal variations of Moscow mules and their 48 Blocks espresso martini never disappoint! Mark your calendar for their weekly trivia night (sign up Thursdays at 7pm, game starts at 7:30pm) and the annual Ugly Sweater Jitney Tour! Free jitneys will run continuously between Little Water Distillery, Cardinal, Bar 32, Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall, and Anchor Rock Club on Friday, December 19, from 6pm-10pm. • Explore casino holiday pop-ups the Ocean Casino Resort Jingle Bell Bar is a must-see! The floor to ceiling nostalgic decor and themed drinks make for great photos! On our last visit, there was live entertainment, in addition to the projections of Christmas movies, and a piano player was taking Christmas tune requests! ⸻ NIGHT WINTER DINNERS IN ATLANTIC CITY • Knife & Fork Inn — The coziest dining room in Atlantic City with the most comforting menu items! Sure, you can eat here any time of year, but we prefer a steakhouse dinner in the dim lighting with classy Christmas decor where we feel like we’re in a winter cottage in a remote location and would never dream were a block from the beach. The Knife & Fork Inn dinner is a great deal after you break the bank on presents. It comes with tomato and mozzarella salad, crab and corn chowder, lobster thermidor, and filet mignon for just $3 more than the thermidor alone! • Dock’s Oyster House— We fell in love with Dock’s as our go-to special occasion destination when it was dressed in its Christmas best during dinner on New Year’s Day over 15 years ago. The elaborate wreaths adorning the windows inside and out lend a beautiful ambience to an already gorgeous space. Warm up with some of our cold weather favorites: spicy steamed clams (save your roll to soak up the extra tomato broth), fried oysters marinara, and gooey crab au gratin. Have a nightcap at the bar- the brand new cocktail menu has perfect flavors for winter, like the Blacklisted with its rich coffee flavor and the subtly spiced Canon de 75. 🎄 Evening Activities Irish Pub— It’s open 24 hours, but to experience the full effect of The Irish Pub Christmas Spectacular, you have to see it after dark. Marvel at the awe-inspiring display of wall-to-wall Christmas decorations and displays at the iconic and historic bar, inn, and restaurant! A black & tan with an order of buffalo wings will thaw you out, if the lights themselves weren’t enough to make you feel warm and fuzzy. ⸻ THINGS TO DO LATE NIGHT IN ATLANTIC CITY 🍸 Drinks & Late-Night Spots Tony’s Baltimore Grill— the patron saint of pizza, dives, and late nights. Come in any night (and almost any time, the kitchen closes at 3am, bar is open 24/7) and get a spicy all sausage, all cherry pepper pie called Nino’s Favorite, and a cheap beer from its namesake, the infamous Nino. Christmas at the Joint is an annual spectacle. Join them on Tuesday, December 16, at 8pm in your Christmas jammies for a PJ party featuring Alibi gin cocktails, light bites and cookies, prizes and more! Tony’s parties can get as hot as their pizza, but they also offer a wholesome family event, the 4th Annual New Year’s Eve for Kids, on Wednesday, December 31, at 4pm. Bring your kiddos for games , a dance party, crafts, and ball drop at 7pm! Angeloni’s Club Madrid— Baltimore Grill’s sister restaurant is amazing for cocktails anytime. The Cavalieri is their take on the espresso martini, topped with a sprinkle of maldon. Another great choice is the Boy Dinner, a rye based drink with notes of chocolate and cherry, served with a side of peanut M&Ms and loosey. There is entertainment in the lounge most nights- from live themed karaoke nights to lounge singers to DJs setting the mood with 80s and 90s hits. Keep an eye out for more details about their Hanukkah latke party on Monday, December 22. Special events are their specialty, so you’ll want to clear your evening for this! Shop With The Escape Plans It’s the season of giving, and we have hand screen printed Atlantic City tshirts, hoodies, crewneck sweatshirts, and tote bags for everyone on your list! Shop with us at our last two markets of 2025: Friday, December 12 Ghost Mart Krampus Edition Anchor Rock Club 8pm-2am 21+, $15 An alternative holiday shopping experience with 25+ vendors, photos with Krampus, goth style bands, live art, sideshow performers, dancers, and DJ! More Than Meets the Eye! A thing can be two things. Atlantic City is more than just the beach and boardwalk. It’s that AND a really cool place to enjoy the holiday season. We think it’s at its best when it’s merry and bright, how about you? Check back for event updates as new festivities are announced and be sure to stop by our booth for hand screen printed gifts for all of your loved ones!
- Your Ultimate Guide to the Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival
With just over a week left until the much-anticipated return of the Atlantic City Beer and Music Festival at the Atlantic City Convention Center, we’re thrilled to share our top tips. This is a must-attend event for craft beer aficionados. Having been part of this festival since 2007, we've honed our strategies over the years. Here’s our ultimate survival guide to the AC Beer and Music Festival. Planning Ahead: Ticketing, Accommodations, and Transportation Tickets for the AC Beer and Music Fest can be conveniently purchased through www.universe.com . If you prefer paper tickets and want to avoid service fees, you can get fee-free tickets at local spots including Axe & Arrow, Behr Brewing, Bolero Snort Brewery, and more, through March 27. Stay updated by following @acbeerfest on Instagram. For detailed information about General Admission, VIP admission, Jitney packages, Designated Driver tickets, and Group Sales, visit www.acbeerfest.com/tickets . While the breweries, beers, vendors, food options, and activities remain consistent across both sessions, the choice of which session to attend often hinges on the musical acts. Session #1 on Saturday, March 29, from 12 PM to 4 PM, features Senses Fail, along with Hidden in Plain View and Flycatcher. Session #2, from 7 PM to 11 PM, presents Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, with Catsbite and Mesh supporting. If you're local or have a designated driver, finding accommodations might not be necessary. However, for those needing a place to stay, there is a great range of options. Event organizers have teamed up with various casino hotels and the Sheraton at the AC Convention Center to offer competitive rates. Exclusive rates at hotels like Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center Hotel, Tropicana, Ocean Casino Resort, and others can be found on www.acbeerfest.com/hotels . Additionally, for a unique upscale experience, consider Cozy CoHost Airbnb or browse other available hotels, motels, and vacation rentals in the area. Transportation Options You have multiple choices for traveling to and from the festival. Conveniently, there’s parking on level 1 of the convention center for a fee of $20. However, we cannot emphasize enough: drinking and driving is unacceptable. If possible, make arrangements for a designated driver. The NJ Transit Atlantic City Rail Terminal is right next to the Atlantic City Convention Center. The terminal offers daily service from Philadelphia 30th Street Station, with stops in Pennsauken, Cherry Hill, Lindenwold, Atco, Hammonton, Egg Harbor City, and Absecon. Complimentary shuttles connect the rail terminal with various casinos. Check schedules and buy tickets via the NJ Transit Mobile App. If you're considering Jitney services, they include pick-up from a location within a 50-mile radius of the festival, transportation to the convention center, and return to your initial location along with seating for up to 13 passengers. Day-of Preparation: Setting Yourself up for Success Stay hydrated before, during, and after the beer festival. If you think you’ve had enough water, drink more. Ideally, aim for half your body weight in ounces of water every day. On festival day, when you’re consuming alcohol and salty foods, your body will need more. Enhance your hydration with Waterboy packets from our Amazon store. Each attendee can bring one sealed water bottle or an empty refillable one. Don’t attend the AC Beer Festival on an empty stomach. Eating a light meal an hour or two beforehand is crucial. High water content foods along with starches prepare your stomach for hours of beer sampling. Consider having a bowl of Vietnamese pho from Noodles of the World at Borgata or exploring Atlantic Avenue for Pho Sydney or Com Ga Ninh Kieu. Enjoying food will prevent you from feeling too full to graze at the festival. We love exploring the best local restaurants that set up shop in the Convention Center for the weekend. Dress comfortably, particularly when it comes to your shoes. While cash is favored, some vendors might accept cards or electronic payments. However, this varies, and the reliability of internet connectivity can also affect transactions. ATMs are available on-site for your convenience. Designate a meeting spot for your group in case anyone gets lost. Our suggestion? The sandcastle. During the Festival: Keeping a Pleasant Pace Remember that this event is a marathon, not a sprint. You are encouraged to enjoy the wide range of beer selections, but trying to sample all 400+ offerings is not realistic. Pacing yourself ensures that you can embrace the experience responsibly. Rapidly sampling numerous 2oz pours can spoil your night. As enthusiasts in our forties, we believe in taking a measured approach to our tasting. We have our strategies for enhancing our festival experience while promoting moderation. I, TJ, begin with lighter beers—lagers and hefeweizens—before transitioning to darker ones like stouts. Meanwhile, Andrea focuses on one or two styles unless she encounters something exceptional. She gravitates toward sours and saisons—often scarcely available at festivals—allowing her to pace herself. Taking breaks between tastings is crucial to avoiding palate fatigue, refreshing our senses for new flavors. We always aim to explore unfamiliar breweries and beers rather than rely solely on accessible old favorites. Shopping from over 50 vendors at the festival is another great way to take a break between samples. Look for The Escape Plans, where we’ll be selling our handmade screen-printed Atlantic City t-shirts and hoodies at the venue. Post-Festival Fun: After Party, Iconic Eats, and Recovery Mode Stay tuned to our Instagram @the.escape.plans for updates about pre- and post-festival events. After hours of sampling and walking, you’ll likely be hungry. Session #2 ends late, making late-night options essential. Tony’s Baltimore Grill offers some of the best food in the city at reasonable prices, open late. If it’s your first time, try the TBG Experience for $40.99 a person, which includes house wine or draft beer, salad, their famed spaghetti and meatballs, an entree choice, and dessert. White House Subs serves the finest Italian hoagies we've tried, with locations on Arctic Avenue (open until 8 PM on Saturday) and at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino (open until midnight). If you want more craft beer or diverse wing sauces, check out Wingcraft before it closes at 11 PM on Saturday. The Morning After To kick-start your recovery, head to Hayday Coffee for a caffeine boost. Alternatively, grab a breakfast sandwich from Hot Bagels and More or indulge in Gilchrist's Hungry Man Combo #2 with delicious blueberry hotcakes. Before you leave town, don’t miss ordering loaded fries, pizza, or Tony Boloney's innovative sandwiches. Reheat them at home and enjoy.
